Specific Areas of Research Interest for ORWH: The Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) is part of the Office of the Director of NIH and collaborates with the NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices to ensure that women's health research is part of the scientific framework at the NIH, and throughout the scientific community. ORWH is especially interested in co-funding applications that include adequate plans to address sex as a biological variable (SABV), including plans for considering the sex chromosomes, conducting sex-stratified analyses, and/or reporting the influence of sex on the results of genetic analyses. For more information, the 2019 2023 Trans-NIH strategic plan for women's health research: "Advancing Science for the Health of Women” highlights research priorities to improve the health of women.
