Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform the scientific community that the Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH), in partnership with the NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs), intends to publish a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) "Specialized Centers of Research Excellence (SCORE) on Sex Differences (U54 Clinical Trial Optional)". The FOA will be a reissuance of RFA-OD-18-004 and will utilize the U54 activity code (Specialized Center - Cooperative Agreements).

Under the FOA, following types of applications will be eligible:

  • New
  • Renewal
  • Resubmission

Research Initiative Details

Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop a robust Centers of Excellence program to support an innovative interdisciplinary research program focusing on sex differences and major medical conditions affecting women in the U.S., and support established scientists at centers across the country who conduct ground breaking research that integrates basis, clinical, and behavioral research approaches to incorporate sex differences.
