Purpose

This Notice provides guidance on NIH’s handling of grant application due dates which fell on or around the recent lapse in appropriations.

• All funding opportunity announcements with a January 22, 2018 due date will now be due January 24, 2018.
• Due dates of January 23, 2018 and later have not changed, and those applications are expected to be submitted on time.
• Our standard system issue policy (NOT-OD-13-054) remains in place for applicants experiencing certain problems that prevent an on-time submission. Permission for a late submission is not given in advance, but considered on a case-by-case basis after application receipt.
