Purpose

The purpose of this Notice it to inform interested applicants that the expiration date for PA-11-180 "Research on Ethical Issues in Biomedical, Social and Behavioral Research (R01)" is being extended until May 8, 2015.

With the exception of NHLBI which will not continue participating, the remaining participating NIH Institutes, Centers and Offices (ICOs) are the same as described in the FOA.

Please note that the mission statement for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) that is listed in Part 2, Section I Funding Opportunity Description under "NIH IC Mission Areas:" has been changed to the following:

The mission of NCCAM is to define, through rigorous scientific investigation, the usefulness and safety of complementary and alternative medicine interventions and their roles in improving health and health care.
