The NIH realizes that there will be problems for organizations in submitting grant applications due to the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.  The usual NIH practice for such circumstances will apply.  Electronic and paper applications submitted late because of this event must include a cover letter noting the reasons for the delay.  It is not necessary to get permission in advance for such delays in grant application submissions.  The normal delay allowed is the time period that an applicant organization/institution is closed.
