This notice provides a progress report on the process of updating and reissuing NIH funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) with due dates on or after January 25, 2010.
Progress Report and ScheduleReissued Parent Funding Opportunity Announcements with new Enhancing Peer Review language and links to the new, restructured application forms are being posted. The parent R01 announcement (PA-10-067) was issued on December 17, 2009, and other parent announcements will be issued on a rolling timeline.
Updated FOAs with new Enhancing Peer Review language and links to the new, restructured application forms are currently being posted on a sliding schedule. Most FOAs with a January 25, 2010 due date are already reposted. Reposted PARENT FOAs will be made available at least 1 month before the due date.
Some FOAs will be or have been terminated early. See NOT-OD-10-030, NIH Announces Termination of Several Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs).
For due dates on or after January 25, 2010, application instructions and forms for paper-based PHS 398 applications are now available.
For due dates on or after January 25, 2010, application instructions for electronic SF 424 (R&R) applications are now available, but applicants MUST return to the updated FOA or the reissued Parent Announcement to download the new application forms.
Application instructions for electronic SF 424 (R&R) applications for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), and Fellowship Opportunities will be available in early 2010.
Any application submitted using incorrect application forms (including applications that have an incorrect mix of old and new forms) will be delayed and may not be reviewed.
