CONFERENCE FOCUS:
The PRIM&R two-day conference will include keynote addresses, panels, workshops, and didactic sessions designed to build an effective animal care and use program. The meeting will offer concrete strategies for dealing with both late-breaking and longstanding challenges.

CONFERENCE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Present and discuss alternative perspectives on the range of ethical, scientific, and administrative practices and procedures in the animal care and use field
  • Enable attendees to meet and hear from representatives of the oversight agencies
  • Provide a roadmap through the multiple paths to an effect animal care and use program, and help attendees determine which structure is right for their institution
  • Examine The Guide and current standards, and determine whether revisions are warranted
  • Present simulations based on "real life" situations, including conflict resolution, judgment calls, and making hard choices
  • Share best practices for developing and implementing an integrated animal care and use program
  • Provide strategies for preventing and dealing with crises and extremist incidents
