The purpose of this Notice is to announce that observations from NIH’s FY2006 Targeted Site Reviews on Financial Conflict of Interest are now available on the Office of Extramural Research (OER) Conflict of Interest page at:  http://grants.nih.gov/grants/policy/coi/index.htm.

The Targeted Site Reviews are a compliance initiative managed by the NIH Division of Grants Compliance and Oversight, Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration, OER.  The site reviews focus specifically on compliance with the Financial Conflict of Interest regulation (42 CFR Part 50 Subpart F, Responsibility of Applicants for Promoting Objectivity in Research for which PHS Funding is Sought) as they pertain to NIH grants.

The observation document was developed for use by the wider grantee community as a resource for evaluating implementation of the regulation.  It contains a discussion of compliance issues, including the two most common compliance issues, and suggestions for implementation.
