The NIH plans to issue Program Announcements (PA) to reissue Research on Ethical Issues in Human Studies (previously issued as PA-02-103) in the spring of 2006. These PAs will solicit research project grant applications addressing the ethical issues that accompany the conduct of human subjects research.

In contrast to PA-02-103, which was limited to R01 applications, the NIH intends to issue separate Announcements for R01, R03 and R21 mechanisms. A description of NIH grant programs may be found at: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/funding_program.htm.

This Notice is to encourage investigators to begin considering applying for these PAs.
