SEPTEMBER SCAW ADVANCED IACUC WORKSHOP IN DENVER

The NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare will join the Scientists
Center for Animal Welfare, the University of Colorado Health Sciences
Center, and the National Jewish Medical & Research Center in co-
sponsoring an advanced training course for members of Institutional
Animal Care and Use Committees on September 17, 2004. It will be held
at the DoubleTree Hotel, 3203 Quebec Street, Denver, Colorado. IACUC-
Advanced is a new program to train members of Institutional Animal Care
and Use Committees (IACUCs). This workshop is for experienced IACUC
members and others who work with laboratory animals. The program will
include small discussion groups and sharing of information among the
participants on issues and controversies involving compliance with
Federal laws and regulations in research activities involving animals.
