The NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) will join the
Institute for Laboratory Animal Research (ILAR) of the National Academy
of Sciences, the Medical Research Council of the United Kingdom, the
Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations, and the
Canadian Council on Animal Care in co-sponsoring an International
Workshop on Development of Science-Based Guidelines for Laboratory
Animal Care. This seminar will bring together experts from around the
world to assess the available scientific knowledge and identify gaps in
current and pending guidelines for laboratory animal welfare. It will
be held at the Georgetown University Conference Center, 3800 Reservoir
Road, NW, Washington, DC, 20057. The agenda, list of speakers, hotel
