ACLAM FORUM 2003 IN FORT MYERS, FLORIDA

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, the American College of 
Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM), and the Southern Illinois 
University School of Medicine will co-sponsor the ACLAM Forum 2003, 
"Induced Animal Models of Human Disease (Before, Beyond, and Besides 
Transgenics)."   The symposium will be held May 14-17, 2003 in Fort 
Myers, Florida.  The four half-day sessions will be on the use of 
induced animal models that are problematic from the perspectives of 
protocol review and animal management, and provide a balanced 
consideration of animal well-being in light of the need to address 
scientific questions that will forward the goal of eventually reducing 
human pain and suffering.
