The Neurological Sciences Academic Development Award (NSADA) K12 award is designed to support individuals trained in pediatric neurology to foster their careers as clinician-scientists. Typically, individuals are supported while in a residency program. Whereas it is anticipated that applications will generally come from an accredited medical school, it is recognized that many accredited medical schools are affiliated with one or more hospitals, and that funding for residents may be managed by an affiliated hospital. The list of eligible organizations in PAR-13-362 (NSADA K12) includes only "Higher Education Institutions." The purpose of this Notice is to inform the community that a hospital that manages the funding of pediatric neurology residents is also eligible to be the applicant institution for this FOA. However, the applicant institution must be affiliated with an accredited medical school and the PD/PI of the NSADA K12 application must have an appointment in an appropriate academic department in the medical school and an appointment at the applicant institution.
