NINDS will no longer utilize the Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (Parent K01; PA-11-190) for support of scientists re-entering research

Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to notify potential applicants that for PA-11-190 (formerly PA-10-056, which is expiring May 8, 2011), NINDS will no longer accept new ReEntry K01 submissions.  NINDS will accept resubmission applications only for cycles II (July 12) and III (November 12) in 2011. 

In the future, the NINDS will use the K01 support mechanism exclusively for the purpose of promoting diversity in neuroscience research through PAR-09-065, which is still active.

Candidates interested in support for re-entry into Neurological research should see the NINDS Re-Entry supplement program for an alternate opportunity: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/funding/areas/office_of_minority_health_and_research/re-entry_supplements_procedures.htm.
