Purpose

The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) and the participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices are holding an applicant technical assistant webinar related to the recently released Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) RFA-NR-24-004: Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity (U01 Clinical Trial Optional). The purpose of this initiative is to support unusually innovative intervention research addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) which, if successful, would have a major impact on preventing, reducing, or eliminating health disparities and advancing health equity. Projects should clearly demonstrate, based on the strength of the logic, a compelling potential to produce a major impact on advancing NIH’s commitment to addressing SDOH to accelerate progress in improving health for all. Preliminary data are not required for this initiative.

This webinar will provide an overview of the NOFO. NIH staff will discuss the purpose and scope of this funding opportunity, go over the scientific review process and review criteria, and share the specific research interests of NINR and of the participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices. NIH staff will also address questions submitted in advance of the webinar.

Please register to attend the webinar. Participants are asked to submit their questions in advance of the webinar on their registration form. Participation in the webinar is encouraged but not required in order to submit an application in response to this funding opportunity.
