The purpose of this notice is to clarify the implementation dates for "Notice of Change in NlNR R03 Applicant Eligibility Criteria” (NOT-NR-07-002) which was published in the NIH Guide on February 9, 2007. For new applications in the next submission cycle June 16, 2007 and beyond, NINR will restrict the use of the R03 mechanism to new investigators. New applications submitted on or prior to the February 16, 2007 receipt date, and their resubmissions (previously referred to as "revised," or "A1" and "A2 applications) will not be subject to this new policy.
