Purpose
This Notice informs potential applicants that the National Institute of Mental Health is participating in PAR-18-189, "Multidisciplinary Studies of HIV/AIDS and Aging (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)". The following changes have been made to reflect NIMH's participation in this FOA.
Current language:
NIMH's overarching angle in HIV and aging is interdisciplinary, conceptually grounded HIV research studies in behavioral/clinical science research and basic/clinical neuroscience research of older adults.
Major NIMH/DAR Research Program Themes in HIV and Aging: Sociobehavioral Influences and Neuropsychiatric Comorbidities Characterization of some major aging phenotypes (e.g., accelerated aging, neurocognitive aging, successful aging) HIV care continuum research HIV CNS pathophysiology and neurotherapeutics Mentoring and training of a diverse research workforce"
Revise language:NIMH's overarching research priorities in aging and HIV are studies in behavioral/clinical science and basic/clinical neuroscience in older adults that specifically address the mission of NIMH.
