Purpose

Effective Jan 9, 2018, the NIMH will no longer participate in the NIH Exploratory Developmental Research Grant Program (Parent R21) and will not accept any applications (new or resubmission) in response to the Parent R21 Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) PA-16-161. The last application due dates that NIMH will accept an application under the Parent R21 FOA will be October 16, 2017 for non-AIDS new applications, November 16, 2017 for non-AIDS resubmission or revision applications, and January 8, 2018 for AIDS and AIDS-related applications.

NIMH will continue to accept R21 applications for projects in high-priority areas under separate NIMH Program Announcements. Information about NIMH priorities and program staff contacts may be found at: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/about/organization/index.shtml.
