Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform applicants, that effective immediately, NIMH will be participating in PAR-16-436 "Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) (RM1)".

The following sections of PAR-16-436 have been updated to reflect the participation of NIMH in this FOA.

Section I. Funding Opportunity Description

The topics of research that may be supported through this FOA have been expanded to encompass research interests of NIMH.

NIMH: NIMH is especially interested in novel genomic approaches that have high potential for accelerating our understanding of the genetic basis of the nervous system and mental disorders.

Genomics Education and Outreach Activities

The CEGS will therefore become an additional opportunity, beyond those previously developed by NHGRI and NIMH (see e.g., http://www.genome.gov/10000950 and http://www.nimh.nih.gov/funding/training/index.shtml) for expanding the cadre of investigators working in the field of genomics.
