ADDENDUM TO NIMH NOTICE ON UNSOLICITED PROGRAM PROJECT (P01) GRANT APPLICATIONS
RELEASE DATE: July 24, 2003
NOTICE: NOT-MH-03-007
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
This Notice announces an exception to NOT-MH-00-015, the purpose of which
was to prohibit the submission of unsolicited applications for new Program
Project grants. Although the NIMH Center for Mental Health Research on AIDS
(CMHRA) is not soliciting such applications, it will consider accepting them if
they are proposing research on areas of high priority in the NIMH AIDS research
efforts (see http://www.nimh.nih.gov/oa/cmhra.cfm#CENTERFORMENT for a
description of the NIMH AIDS areas of programmatic interest). When an
investigator has developed a concept for such an application, he/she should
contact an NIMH CMHRA staff member (as listed at
http://www.nimh.nih.gov/dmdba/index.cfm#cmhr) for approval before submitting
the application. A P01 submission must include a letter of approval from the
Director, CMHRA, NIMH. In addition, all applications requesting $500,000 or
more in direct costs for any year are subject to the existing procedure for
approval prior to submission (for more information about this procedure,
see NOT-OD-02-004).
All other aspects of Notice NOT-MH-00-015 remain unchanged.
