Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants of NIMHD's participation, effective immediately, in PAR-23-292, “Improving Care and Outcomes for Cancer Survivors from Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) Populations (R01 Clinical Trial Optional).”

Part 2. Section I. Funding Opportunity Description

NIMHD Area of Interest:  NIMHD is interested in applications that include research projects aligned with the mission of the Institute. NIMHD aims to lead scientific research to improve minority health and reduce health disparities in populations that experience health disparities (i.e., racial/ethnic minority groups, people with lower socioeconomic status, underserved rural populations,  SGM populations, and people with disabilities). Of particular interest are projects assessing barriers to quality cancer treatment and follow-up care for SGM cancer survivors of minoritized racial/ethnic and socio-economic statuses. Applicants with questions about the suitability of a prospective application to this FOA should contact the Scientific/Research Contact. If there are foreign component(s) included in the application, applicants must explicitly describe how the proposed activities at foreign sites will contribute to the knowledge that will improve minority health and/or help to reduce or eliminate health disparities in the United States.
