Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the intent of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) to award a grant to Morehouse School of Medicine as result of a Congressional earmark. The FY 2022 Omnibus Appropriations provided the specific earmark below.

“Research Centers in Minority Institutions. -The agreement recognizes the importance of the RCMI Research Coordination Network in ensuring that collectively, institutions can engage in multi-site collaborative research, and provides $5,000,000 for this activity.”

Morehouse School of Medicine is currently the Coordinating Center for the NIMHD Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) program. NIMHD will solicit an application from Morehouse School of Medicine to expand the scope of the RCMI Coordinating Center that will then undergo an objective review for technical and scientific merit. Should the application be deemed meritorious by peer review, NIMHD will execute a single source award to increase the funding level of the RCMI Coordinating Center to the FY 2022 statutory requirement.
