Purpose

On August 7, 2012, AHRQ issued Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) PA-12-256 "AHRQ Grants for Health Services Research Dissertation Program (R36)." The purpose of this Notice is to correct information contained in the "Section IV. Application and Submission Information" component of the cited FOA as described below. Specifically, the information pertains to the application page limits and instructions for uploading the transcript.

Protection of Human Subjects:
Current text reads:
A discussion of human subjects protection must be included if the proposed research involves any contact with or data on humans (e.g., patients, providers, administrators); including data obtained from secondary publicly or privately available data sources. This section does not count toward the 10 page limitation.

Replacement text should read:
A discussion of human subjects protection must be included if the proposed research involves any contact with or data on humans (e.g., patients, providers, administrators); including data obtained from secondary publicly or privately available data sources. This section does not count toward the application page limitations.

Other Project Information Component:

Transcripts

Current text reads:
The application must include a transcript of the student's record to date in the doctoral program of which the dissertation is a part. The transcript must be placed in the “Other Attachments” section of the Other Project Information Component, not in the Appendix.

Replacement text should read:
A copy of an official transcript of the applicant's record, to date, in the doctoral program of which the dissertation is a part must be included in the Appendix.

Appendix Materials:
Current text reads:
The only acceptable Appendix materials are copies of any survey instruments or questionnaires, data collection or interview guides used in the proposed research, if applicable.

Replacement text should read:
The only acceptable Appendix materials are a copy of the applicant's official transcript and copies of any survey instruments or questionnaires, data collection or interview guides used in the proposed research, if applicable.
