Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to specify that if an R35 application is selected for funding, existing NHLBI K24 awards must be relinquished. That is, an OIA awardee's existing NHLBI K24 grant will be incorporated into the OIA award.
Overview
Current Language:
Since an NHLBI OIA is intended to provide the primary, and most likely sole, source of NHLBI funding on individual grant awards, most existing NHLBI grants (e.g., R01s, R03s, etc.) will be incorporated into the OIA award. However, the OIA does not eliminate the PD/PI from consideration for the following separate sources of NHLBI funding:
