Purpose

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to support a Data and Modeling Center for the Precision Interventions for Severe and Exacerbation-Prone (PrecISE) Asthma Network.

This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.

The FOA is expected to be published in Spring 2016 with an expected application due date in Fall 2016.

This FOA will utilize the U01 activity code. Details of the planned FOA are provided below. A companion FOA will also be published (see NOT-HL-16-300).

Research Initiative Details

The Data and Modeling Center will provide support and coordination for the PrecISE Asthma Network, and will also provide the modeling expertise and statistical analysis necessary to determine continuation or termination for individual patients at pre-determined points in the protocol, and statistical analysis of intermediate and final outcomes.
