Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to announce that in FY 2009, NHLBI will provide supplemental support to the NIGMS Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP-see: http://www.nigms.nih.gov/Training/InstPredoc/PredocDesc-MSTP.htm) for a limited number of trainees whose research is broadly related to the goals of the NHLBI during their graduate research years. Trainees will be supported by NIGMS during their pre-clinical and clinical training years.

NIGMS invites nominations from Program Directors of funded http://www.nigms.nih.gov/Training/InstPredoc/PredocInst-MSTP.htm MSTP programs (one nomination/program). Program Directors should send submissions to Dr. Shapiro (contact information below) and submissions will be forwarded to NHLBI for consideration.
