The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) announces that it will participate in PA-07-303 titled "Novel Approaches to Enhance Animal Stem Cell Research (R01)" and PA-07-304 titled "Novel Approaches to Enhance Animal Stem Cell Research (R21)", published in the NIH Guide on January 18, 2007. These PAs encourages research to enhance animal stem cells as biological models and approaches to isolate, characterize and identify totipotent and multipotent stem cells from animal models. Animal stem cell models for cardiovascular, pulmonary, and hematopoietic systems continue to be highly relevant to the NHLBI mission.
