Purpose

This notice is to alert the community that NHGRI plans to host a pre-application webinar to provide an overview of two Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO): RFA-HG-017, Investigator-Initiated Research in Genomics and Health Equity (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) and RFA-HG-018, Investigator-Initiated Research in Genomics and Health Equity (R21 Clinical Trial Optional). The purpose of these NOFOs is to support investigator-initiated research in genomics and health equity, with the ultimate goal of developing approaches, generating and disseminating data, and implementing metrics or interventions that will advance the equitable use of genomics to improve health in U.S. populations.

Webinar Information

The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 12:00 1:00 PM ET. Participation in the webinar is optional and is not required to submit an application in response to RFA-HG-017, Investigator-Initiated Research in Genomics and Health Equity (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) or RFA-HG-018, Investigator-Initiated Research in Genomics and Health Equity (R21 Clinical Trial Optional). A recording of the webinar and answers to Frequently Asked Questions will be made available at https://www.genome.gov/event-calendar/pre-application-webinar-for-investigator-initiated-research-in-genomics-and-health-equity-rfas. During the webinar, program and grants management staff will give an overview of the FOA and application submission process and field questions from potential applicants. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance to Lucia Hindorff at hindorffl@mail.nih.gov.
