On August 11, 2022, the?Eunice Kennedy Shriver?National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), as part of the Implementing a Maternal health and PRegnancy Outcomes Vision for Everyone (IMPROVE)?initiative, issued three Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) to solicit applications to establish a national network of Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence: RFA-HD-23-035 (Maternal Health Research Centers), RFA-HD-23-036 (Data Innovation and Coordinating Hub), and RFA-HD-23-037 (Implementation Science Hub).
The Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence will focus on generating innovative approaches to address preventable maternal mortality, decrease severe maternal morbidity, and promote maternal health equity in partnership with disproportionately impacted communities.
This Notice provides information regarding two upcoming Pre-Application Webinars for the above-referenced FOAs.

The intent of the two pre-application webinars is to provide an overview of?three FOAs (RFA-HD-23-035, RFA-HD-23-036, and RFA-HD-23-037) and to address questions from potential applicants. The planned webinars are?optional and are not required to submit an application in response to the FOAs. All prospective applicants are invited to attend the webinars and are?strongly encouraged?to send relevant questions prior to the webinars to maximize the use of time. Questions should be sent by email to?IMPROVEinitiative@OD.NIH.gov?by September 27, 2022. These questions will be prioritized during the Q&A portion of the webinar. While an effort will be made to include all questions in the webinar, it is possible that not all questions will be addressed during the event due to time constraints. NICHD will make recordings of the sessions publicly available.
American Sign Language interpreting services are available upon request.
