Purpose
This Notice is to inform the research community that NICHD is amending its participation in Program Announcements PA-16-288, "Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research Careers" and PA-16-289, "Research Supplements to Promote Re-entry into Biomedical and Behavioral Research Careers".
In addition to this Notice, guidance on NICHD's amended participation can be accessed through the "Table of IC-Specific Information, Requirements and Staff Contacts" in the currently active funding opportunity announcements PA-16-288 and PA-16-289 respectively.
Effective immediately, NICHD is implementing procedures such that the "effective" due dates, review, and funding of diversity and re-entry supplement applications will take place during three cycles per year. While applications may be submitted at any time throughout a fiscal/calendar year, reviews will be conducted and funding decisions will be made only three times a year. (See below.)

*Applications received between May 16 and July 31 will be reviewed with those received between August 1 and October 30. Funding decisions will be made on the basis of administrative evaluation by NICHD staff with appropriate scientific expertise and availability of funds. NICHD typically makes diversity and re-entry supplement awards for the periods described in the table below.
