Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to extend the Receipt Date for RFA-OD-11-002 Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (K12) until October 21, 2011, to provide clarification on the "Specialized Program Information material and the SF424 Required Data Tables, and to provide further information on scholar costs. The letter of Intent will be due on September 20, 2011 and the expiration date will now be October 22, 2011.

Section II Award Information

Participant costs

As part of the scholars costs, an application is expected to request four BIRCWH scholar positions at all times, at least half of which must be for individuals with a clinical doctoral degree (but are not limited to the M.D., D.O., D.D.S., D.M.D., O.D., D.C., Psychologists/Psychiatrists, PharmD., N.D., as well as nurses with doctoral degrees).

BIRCWH Application Content and Format Instructions

Specialized Program Information should be included as follows:

  • Item #5: Current BIRCWH Programs should be renamed Progress Report to be consistent with the language used in the SF424 instructions. This section is not included in the 25 page limit.
  • Items #1) Career development 2) Resource Laboratory 4) Current BIRCWH programs/Progress Report, 5) Other K12 programs is included within the 25 page limit.
  • Item #3): Instruction in the Responsible Conduct of Research is not included in the 25 pages. This is a separate section with a 3 page limit.
SFR 424 Instruction and Sample Data tables

New applicants: In addition to the Mentor-Mentee table listed on page 11 of the FOA (uploaded via the Other Attachments section) Table 2, Table 4, Table 6B, Table 9B and Table 10 must be completed. All other required data tables listed in the SFR 424 do not apply.

Renewals/Revisions: In addition to the Mentor-Mentee table listed on page 11 of the FOA (uploaded via the Other Attachments section), Table 2, Table 4, Table 6B ( publications from scholars supported by the grant), Table 10 (scholars supported by the grant) and Table 12B (scholars supported by the grant) must be completed. All other required data tables listed in the SFR 424 do not apply.
