National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) and the Social, Behavioral, and Economic (SBE) Directorate within the National Science Foundation (NSF) plan to support a portfolio of research to provide scientific analysis of important aspects of the biomedical research enterprise and efforts to foster a diverse, innovative, productive and efficient scientific workforce from which future research discoveries and scientific leaders will emerge.
Both agencies believe that there are opportunities and needs in building and supporting research projects with a focus on the scientific research enterprise. This program is designed to encourage new collaborations, as well as to support existing ones.
NIGMS and SBE anticipate making 4 to 8 awards totaling up to $2 million per year. It is expected that each award will be between $100,000 to $250,000 (total costs) per year for a duration of up to four years. Applications should be submitted to the NSF (Program solicitation NSF 23-569). The first receipt date will be September 11, 2023. Specific information concerning the application and review process is available at nsf23001 Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) | NSF - National Science Foundation.
