Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants of a change at NIGMS to the candidate level eligibility that will be considered for PA-21-071,“Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (Admin Supp — Clinical Trial Not Allowed).”

Effective immediately, NIGMS will begin accepting applications to support master’s degree students who are planning to apply to Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. programs. This change to the candidate level eligibility is part of the NIGMS Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research, which facilitates the recruitment and training of promising scientists from diverse backgrounds (including individuals from underrepresented groups in the biomedical research workforce).

PD/PIs with eligible candidates are strongly encouraged to discuss potential diversity supplement requests with the below listed contacts along with the Program Officer of their grant before applying.
