Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to revise language regarding Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI) eligibility in PAR-19-102 “Graduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) (T32)”, such that the contact PD/PI is now expected, not required, to have a full-time appointment at the applicant institution.

Section III. Eligibility Information

1. Eligible Applicants

Eligible Individuals (Program Director/Principal Investigator)

Current language:

The PD(s)/PI(s) must have a regular full-time appointment (i.e., not adjunct, part-time, retired, or emeritus) at the applicant institution.

Revised language:

The contact PD/PI is expected to have a full-time appointment at the applicant institution unless extremely well-justified. If the full-time status of the contact PD/PI changes after the award, the institution must obtain prior program approval to appoint a new PD/PI or request a deviation from the full-time rule.

All other aspects of this FOA remain the same.
