Purpose
This Notice informs grantee institutions of PAR-13-333 Bridges to the Baccalaureate (R25) of a change in reporting requirements provided in Section VI.3. Reporting, Other Reporting Requirements.

The institution must submit a completed Statement of Appointment (PHS Form 2271) for each participant appointed full time for eight weeks or more or the equivalent. Grantees must submit the PHS 2271 data electronically using the xTrain system. More information on xTrain is available at xTrain (eRA Commons). An appointment or reappointment may begin any time during the budget period, but not before the budget period start date of the grant year.
Effective April 23, 2014, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences is rescinding the requirement outlined above concerning the use of the eRA Commons xTrain module to prepare and submit the PHS 2271 Statement of Appointment form. To appoint participants to the program, institutions must adhere to the following:
The institution must input required information using the web-based NIGMS CareerTrac System for each participant appointed to the program. An appointment or reappointment may begin any time during the budget period, but not before the budget period start date of the grant year.
All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.
