Purpose
NIEHS will host a pre-application technical assistance virtual meeting for RFA-OD-09-004 on Friday April 24, 2009 from 1:00-3:00 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
The purpose of the informational meeting is to provide technical assistance on and answer questions related to the preparation of applications in response to RFA OD-09-004: with a focus on the ES topics of Engineered Nanomaterials Environmental Health and Safety and Bisphenol A: Research to Impact Human Health. Potential applicants will be able to access the meeting by web and/or telephone. The meeting web address and phone number will be furnished upon registration. The meeting will begin with brief presentations from program, review and grants management staff, and then open into a question and answer session.
Participants should submit questions to [email protected]. All questions submitted by email must be received by 5:00 p.m., EST, on April 21. There will also be an opportunity for participants to submit questions that arise during the technical assistance meeting in real-time using the Chat function in Adobe Connect.
All researchers, community members and other persons interested in submitting an application in response to this Grand Opportunities RFA are strongly encouraged to attend the technical assistance meeting either in person or via the weblink. Those who cannot attend are encouraged to visit the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) website to be posted online following the meeting (see below).

Pre-registration for this event is required. Meeting attendees are encouraged to register for the meeting at their earliest opportunity. Registration deadline is April 20, 2009.

Computer and Telephone System Requirements
You will need a telephone for the audio portion of this webinar. If you plan to access the virtual meeting by web, you can test whether your computer configuration will support your participation in this Adobe Connect meeting at: http://webmeeting.nih.gov/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm. You must pass the first three tests. Test 4, the Adobe Connect Add-In Test, is not required to participate in this meeting.
Frequently Asked Questions website for RFA-OD-09-004
Approximately 1 week after the technical assistance meeting, a set of answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding the preparation of applications will be posted to a public website, in addition to the slides from NIEHS staff presentations given during the technical assistance meeting. All applicants are encouraged to review the FAQ’s and slide presentations prior to submitting their application. We anticipate updating these as needed and recommend that applicants check back for updates to the FAQs regularly until their submission date.
