CENTER RESPONSE ACTIVITIES IN RESEARCH AND OUTREACH

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is 
announcing a limited competition for administrative supplements to 
active NIEHS P30 Environmental Health Science (EHS) Centers and P42 
Superfund Basic Research Programs (SBRP) that can demonstrate previous 
or current institutional World Trade Center (WTC) response activities 
resulting from the terrorist attack of September 11.  This is a 
one-time solicitation for 12-month support. Available funds of $4.5 
million were appropriated by Congress to support World Trade Center 
(WTC) response activities in exposure assessment, epidemiology studies 
and community outreach and education.  The purpose for the 
administrative supplements is to support initial development of 
activities through an integrated research approach that will provide a 
framework to address current and future health and environment concerns 
arising from the WTC attacks.
