The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) is to announce that the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute of Aging (NIA), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), theĀ Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) are encouraging new applications to advance research activities relevant to synthetic biology.

The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) is to announce that the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute of Aging (NIA), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) are encouraging new applications to advance research activities relevant to synthetic biology.

The annual Synthetic Biology Consortium Meeting is organized to facilitate the sharing of tools and resources for synthetic biology research. Participants use this group as a forum to collaborate and receive feedback on current topics and future directions in synthetic biology.

The PD(s)/PI(s) and other appropriate project staff associated with awards through this NOSI are strongly encouraged to attend the annual NIH Synthetic Biology Consortium Meeting, either in-person or through a virtual conferencing service. Furthermore, at least one trainee is encouraged to attend the annual meeting. If necessary, requests will be considered to support in-person attendance for the PD(s)/PI(s) and the appropriate project staff to participate in this annual meeting. To inquire about travel support to the annual NIH Synthetic Biology Consortium meeting, please contact the appropriate scientific/research contact listed in NOT-EB-20-017.

All other aspects of the NOSI remain unchanged.
