RFA-DK-21-502 - Limited Competition for the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for the NIDDK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium (IBDGC) (U24 Clinical Trial Optional)
National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
The purpose of this Notice is to inform the applicant community of an increase in the page limitation from 12 pages to 30 pages for the Research Strategy section for applications submitted to Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) RFA-DK-21-502, Limited Competition for the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for the NIDDK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium (IBDGC) (U24 Clinical Trial Optional).
The IBDGC DCC (U24) application requires presentation of the unified scientific research strategy for the entire IBDGC, a full report of past progress and a detailed description of future plans for all of the managerial, logistic, and analytic functions that the DCC will perform for the IBDGC. The managerial functions of the DCC include management of the Steering Committee and all other committees, communications and collaborative activities of the IBDGC. In addition, RFA-DK-21-502 requires a detailed description of the IBDGC’s decision-making processes, and a plan for promoting collaboration of the IBDGC with the broader IBD research community. The logistic functions of the DCC include development and maintenance of databases, including a web-based interface for data submission, assurance of data integrity, oversight of data and resource sharing, and coordination of the collection, biobanking and analysis of biological samples collected by the Genomic Research Centers of the IBDGC. The analytic functions of the DCC include coordination of Consortium-wide clinical, genomic, multi-omic and microbiome data analyses. The DCC application will therefore require sufficient space to provide detailed accounts of prior progress and of prospective plans for execution and refinement of all these essential managerial, logistic, and analytic functions.
