Notice of Detailed Budget Correction for NIDDK PAR-11-349: Research Using Subjects From The Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Natural History Study (Living Biobank) (DP3) and PAR-11-350: Research Using Biosamples From Selected Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Studies (DP3)

This Notice amends Section II. Award Information, Award Budget Section for NIDDK PAR-11-349: Research Using Subjects From The Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Natural History Study (Living Biobank) (DP3) and PAR-11-350: Research Using Biosamples From Selected Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Studies (DP3) provides additional instructions regarding the budgeting of consortium and contractual costs and Just In Time submissions. The following two statements apply to both FOAs:

1. Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs requested by consortium participants are not included in the direct cost limitation. See NOT-OD-05-004.

2. This FOA uses "Just-In-Time" information concepts (see see SF424 (R&R) Application Guide). Detailed budget information will be request as part of the Just-In-Time information.

This Notice also amends Section IV.2. Content and Form of Application Submission, for PAR-11-349: Research Using Subjects From The Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Natural History Study (Living Biobank) (DP3) and PAR-11-350: Research Using Biosamples From Selected Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Studies (DP3) provides additional instructions regarding the submission of budgetary information. The following information should be added:

SF424 (R&R) Cover component

• For applications with multiple PD(s)/PI(s), information for the Contact PD(s)/PI(s) should be entered in item 14 Project Director/Principal Investigator Contact Information of the SF424 (R&R) Cover component. 
• All other PD(s)/PI(s) should be listed in the Research & Related Senior/Key Person component and assigned the project role of PD(s)/PI(s).  
• The Budget request is entered in the Estimated Project Funding section of the SF424 (R&R) Cover component only. Awards are for up to $900,000 (PAR-11-349) or $600,000 (PAR 11-350) in direct costs for the three-year budget/project period. Funds may be requested for personnel (including co-investigators and collaborators), supplies, equipment, sub-contracts, and other allowable costs. Only the three-year total should be entered. A detailed budget is not requested and will not be accepted. A detailed budget will be requested under Just-In-Time (see Section II).

All other aspects of the FOAs remain unchanged.
