The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) announces the early termination of PAR-06-532, Translational Research for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes and Obesity (R18) (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-06-532.html). PAR-06-532 will be replaced by a revised PAR which will provide for the continuous acceptance of R18 applications.  This strategy will allow for both the R18 and associated R34 PARs to have the same opening dates and expiration dates. After May 8, 2009, the NIDDK will no longer accept new R18 applications in response to PAR-06-532. Resubmission applications for applications initially submitted under PAR-06-532 will be accepted in response to the newly issued R18 PAR.
