The NIDDK conducts the initial peer review of applications for these fellowship programs in study sections convened by the NIDDK Review Branch based on an expedited schedule of four months from submission to award. In order to maintain this schedule, it is imperative that the applicant meet the NRSA or AIDS and AIDS-related submission deadlines as appropriate, see http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/submissionschedule.htm, and concurrently send the additional copy to the NIDDK official noted above. Late applications are generally not accepted.

Applications in response to the FOA, Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards for Individual Predoctoral Fellowships (F31) to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (PA-07-106), will continue to be reviewed in CSR-convened study sections.
