Purpose

This Notice is to inform the scientific community that the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) will now accept R03 grant applications from NIDDK K01 awardees, as well as from NIDDK K08 and K23 awardees, in response to PAR-06-172.

Beginning with the October 16, 2008 receipt date for R03 applications, NIDDK K01awardees as well as NIDDK K08 and K23 awardees, with 1 or 2 years remaining on their K-awards (in accordance with NIH policy: NOT-OD-08-065), may submit applications for R03s to expand their current research objectives or to branch out to a closely related pilot study, thus demonstrating their growth as investigators and their independence.  For application details and to submit an application, see PAR-06-172.
