Notice Number: NOT-DK-07-008
Key Dates
Release Date: March 16, 2007
Issued by
National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), (http://www.niddk.nih.gov)
The purpose of this announcement is to clarify eligibility criteria for applicants responding to PAR-06-358: Planning Grants for Translational Research for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes and Obesity. It is also to make the eligibility criteria consistent with the companion initiative, PAR-06-532: Translational Research for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes and Obesity.
It is the purpose for both PARs that applications focus on minorities and other high risk populations disproportionately affected by diabetes and obesity. The applications should focus on novel approaches to health care delivery and diabetes prevention. Applications in which the main focus is on development and validation of culturally appropriate materials will not be considered responsive.
