The NIDDK is requesting competing applications from the current awardees of RFA-DK-00-012: HEMODIALYSIS VASCULAR ACCESS CLINICAL TRIALS CONSORTIUM. Applications submitted in response to the RFA were to participate in multi-center studies to evaluate therapies to reduce the rate of AV graft and fistula failure in hemodialysis patients. The grant awards were made in September 2000. The current grantees possess the necessary infrastructure, study population base, organization, and leadership to address the important objectives of assessing therapies that might impact on vascular access failure in hemodialysis patients.
