The Request for Applications (RFA) entitled  Ancillary Studies in Conjunction 
with the SHOW Trial", DK-00-017, was issued on August 2, 2000, with an 
original receipt date of November 16, 2000.  This RFA can be accessed at  
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-DK-00-017.html. 

Due to delays in completing the design for SHOW, the receipt date for this 
RFA has been extended.  THE NEW RECEIPT DATE IS JANUARY 8, 2001.

As explained in the original RFA, before applying to the NIH, applicants must 
submit a form (entitled Preliminary Proposal for SHOW Ancillary Study) to the 
SHOW Substudies and Ancillary Studies Committee.  This form is available on 
the SHOW website at:  http://show.phs.wfubmc.edu/.  The due date for 
submitting the preliminary proposal form has been extended to November 27, 2000.   
However, applicants are urged to fill out the preliminary form as soon as 
possible and also to contact program staff as indicated in the original RFA.    
All other provisions of the RFA remain unchanged.
