Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to increase the amount of direct costs that may be requested in applications submitted to PAR-10-170: Institutional Training for a Dental and Craniofacial Research Workforce (T90/R90), and PAR-10-171: Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Training for a Dental and Craniofacial Research Workforce (T32).
PAR-10-170 and PAR-10-171 should read:
Budget and Project Period: Awards for NIDCR institutional research training grants may be for project periods up to five years in duration and are renewable.
Applicants should calculate full cost needs of tuition, fees, or health insurance at the time of application submission. See NIH Grants Policy Statement - Institutional Research Training Grants for additional guidance.
NIDCR will calculate the budget according to the appropriate formula for stipends, tuition/fees and other budgetary levels that are in effect at the time of award. NIDCR awards will not exceed $800,000 in direct costs per year.
This language supercedes the budget language in both the Executive Summary and Section II.2. Funds Available.
All other aspects of these FOAs remain unchanged.
