Notice Number: NOT-DE-05-003
Key Dates
Release Date: January 10, 2005
This Notice regarding the NIDCR Kirschstein-NRSA Institutional Clinical Research Training Award is intended to clarify programmatic requirements. The original Request for Applications (RFA-DE-05-008) was released on November 10, 2004, and can be found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-DE-05-008.html.
The RFA states that applications should have the capacity to provide clinical research training at various educational levels such as 1) short-term research training programs, 2) predoctoral training for a combined D.D.S./D.M.D. and Ph.D. degree, (i.e., through a dual-degree earning Dental Student Training Program [DSTP]), 3) training for dentists in pursuit of the Ph.D. degree, and 4) postdoctoral training leading to a masters degree or certificate in clinical research.
It is not required that applicants propose a training program incorporating all four of these components of training. Institutional strengths should determine the scope and breadth of the training offered.
