CHANGE IN NIDCD GUIDELINES FOR RESEARCH CORE CENTER GRANTS (P30) Release Date: July 24, 2002 NOTICE: NOT-DC-02-001 National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) (http://www.nidcd.nih.gov) The purpose of this notice is to announce two changes for NIDCD Research Core Center Grants (P30): 1) Institutions applying for a Core Center grant must hold, at the time of submission, a minimum of six research project grants each with at least one year of support remaining, and 2) budgetary caps are now in place. This notice will become effective with the October 1, 2002 receipt date. Institutions holding eleven or more NIDCD funded grants are allowed to request direct costs up to $2.0 million over a five year period. Institutions having fewer than eleven NIDCD funded grants may request direct costs up to $1.5 million over a five year period. The determination of these budgetary caps will be made based on the following funded grant mechanisms held at the time of submission: individual research grants (R01), FIRST awards (R29), and subprojects on current program project/center grants (P01 or P50).
