Research Initiative Details
The N CREW Program is part of the NIHs HEAL Initiative, which aims to speed scientific solutions to the national opioid public health crisis. The NIH HEAL Initiative bolsters research across NIH to (1) improve prevention and treatment for opioid misuse and addiction and (2) enhance pain management. More information about the HEAL Initiative is available at: https://heal.nih.gov/.
The N CREW Program is anticipated to include two phases, with an estimated budget of approximately $268 million over a 7-year period for all elements of the Program. The forthcoming ROAs are expected to solicit applications for only Phase I of the N CREW Program. NIH intends to allocate up to $25 million across approximately two years (FY24 and FY25) to fund approximately 20 awards in Phase I, which will include planning, development, and piloting of research and/or data improvement projects led by T/NASOs and wraparound, real-time technical assistance, resources, training, and coordination in support of those activities.
Applications are not being solicited at this time.
